A Short
History
of
Huzoor
Mahboobul Ulama Alahirrahmah
Throughout the history of
Islam, Sufism have played an instrumental role in spreading the message of Islam
across the world. In India too, different tariqas (orders) of Sufism such as
Chistiyaah order, Qadiriyyah order, Naqshbandiyyah order etc. have been prominent
in spreading the Sufi teachings of love and harmony. Hazrat Sultan Syed
Makhdoom Ashraf Jahangir Semanani (RadiAllahu Anhu), a direct descendant of The Holy
Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), is once such great Sufi saint of India
who renounced his Kingdom of Semnan (a province in Iran) in order to serve Islam.
He introduced the Ashrafiyah order in India, resulting from the confluence of
the Chistiyaah and the Qadiriyyah orders. His shrine is in Kichhaucha Sharif,
Ambedkar Nagar, U.P. India and is the chief center of spirituality. Even to
this day, his entire lineage is engaged in carrying forward the spiritual
odyssey that he started in 1364 CE. Hazrat Syed Mahboob Ahsraf (Alaihirrahmah)
was one such member of Ashrafi clan, who not only proved himself worthy of the
spiritual prowess that he inherited by living a very simple and pious life but
also attained an exemplary spiritual proficiency. Worldly desires of fame and
money never made place in his heart and he was a devotee of his ancestor Mahboob
e Yazdani Makhdoom Sultan Syed Ashraf Jahangir Semanani (RadiAllahu Anhu).
Hazrat Syed Mahboob Ahsraf (Alaihirrahmah) was the maternal grandson of Ashraf Al Sofiyah Maulana Ashraf
Hussain (RadiAllahu Amhu), who was the elder brother as well as the spiritual
master of Mahboob e Rabbani Ala Hazrat Ashrafi Miyan Kichhhauchhawi (RadiAllahu Anhu)
Sarkar e Kalan Syed Mukhtar Ashraf (Alaihirrahmah) was his cousin. Hazrat Syed
Mahboob Ashraf (Alaihirrahmah) left for the heavenly abode two years ago. His
Urs (demise anniversary) is commemorated with great respect and honor. The
entire town of Kichhauchha Sharif feels proud to have been blessed by such a
great Sufi saint.
